The Norwegian Epic was refurbished in 2015 and has a guest capacity of 4,100 passengers with a crew of 1,724. The NCL Epic is one of the ships that offer studios for solo passengers in addition to the typical cabin types. During the course of the year, you can visit the Mediterranean, the Bahamas, and Caribbean on the Epic. Or take the transatlantic crossing as they reposition the ship.
If you are taking a cruise for a special occasion keep in mind you can arrange for many special items delivered to your room on the day of embarkation. I celebrated my Birthday and found a surprise in my room when I arrived.
Thermal Suite Pass
One of the first things I do when getting onto the ship is to go to the spa and purchase a pass for the Thermal Suite. The Epic provided a great thermal suite that provided for wonder hot baths and lounges to relax. The pass will give you unlimited access and the cruise lines have a limit that they strickly enforce so you will want to get it early. Because there are limited passes sold it is usually not overly busy and is a great way to enjoy a quiet relaxing spot on the ship when you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the day to day ship activities.
The spa treatments are also a great way to escape. You can usually get a good deal when the ship is at the port. Appointments for sea days tend to fill up quickly so plan ahead and take advantage of the savings if you are returning to a port you have visited.
